7-1-Ocho is a collaborative mixtape combining Justo The Mc's (Brooklyn,NY) lyrics with Mexican power producer Ocho Vazquez's(Ecatepec, Mexico) beats.
The concept of the title "7-1-Ocho" was made through the idea of Justo's hometown area code (718) cleverly switching the 8 for Spanish version Ocho; also the name of producer Ocho Vazquez.
The concept of the tape is more less the story of the NY hip hop artist in todays saturated, media frenzy plague game (music industry). It connects a twist of real life experiences from Justo with the stories seen & told of other artist consumed in the life of being a respected brand in music.
The Intro itself brings the NY feel with a train pulling off & Justo giving a poem induced vibe toward the idea of the tape. The humble beginnings of writing until you run out of paper (Running Out Of Space)and the hunger that ultimate leads to the much needed down time of a cutie pie(Kinda Fly).To the moment of clarity and clear conscious(Personal Space) that puts you in a place of reconciliation, ensuring you've taken all the necessary steps to succeed (Paid My Dues). The anxiety that leads to bad choices for money, because of the need for catchy lyrics and antics rather than the true form you once embraced(Fools Gold) and the disappointment in those decisions that lead to wanting another shot to do it right(One More Chance). In the end only you can wake up from the dream and obstacles that come with it and make a realistic path for yourself (King Me).
